Method of Operation
- The product is fed from the customer’s conveyor in a single lane with the narrow dimension leading onto the Langen infeed conveyor. The servo-controlled pivot of the Langen infeed conveyor diverts products into separate lanes as specified.
- The "Non-synchronized" HSP receives the products from the lanes at different levels to create a stacked collation pattern.
- The HSP accumulates several carton loads between infeed and discharge areas. The discharge end moves on a multi-pitch index programmable cycle and will come to a dwell position as each collation of wraps arrive at the loading station.
- Simultaneously carton blanks are picked from the horizontal magazine by vacuum with a continuous motion rotary head feeder and positioned on the vacuum cups of the pre-break system. The carton is partially opened and then placed in the carton conveyor flights and the flaps held open with guide rails.
- The collation is inserted into the carton horizontally. The minor end flaps are closed after loading and hot melt adhesive applied from a Nordson Hot Melt system. The major flaps are ploughed down and sealed and the carton is side transferred to the discharge conveyor.
