Method of Operation
- The product is fed from the customer’s conveyor in a single lane with the narrow dimension leading onto the Langen infeed conveyor.
- The "Non-synchronized" HSP receives the product and creates the collation pattern determined by the product currently in production.
- The HSP accumulates several carton loads between infeed and discharge areas. The discharge end moves on a multi-pitch index programmable cycle and will come to a dwell position as each collation of products arrive at the loading station.
- Simultaneously carton blanks are picked from the horizontal magazine by vacuum with a continuous motion rotary head feeder and positioned on the vacuum cups of the pre-break system. The carton is partially opened and then placed in the carton conveyor flights and the flaps held open with guide rails.
- The collation is inserted into the carton horizontally. The minor end flaps are closed after loading and hot melt adhesive applied from a Nordson Hot Melt system. The major flaps are ploughed down and sealed.
- An overhead sweep transfers the finished product to a discharge conveyor.
